Having had quite a lot of time off recently, I've been able to watch the Ryobi Cup in Australia the past month or so where there's been some great innings. All of the games appear to be played at Sydney based club grounds (even if they're premier club sides!). It has got me thinking about the difference in standard between the ECB county sides and Australian State sides as well. I thimk the major difference in culture is that international cricketers are still turning out for their club sides which I think is great, not including Dave Warner who actually declined to play for his club and had a "private net session" instead, only to grab a 0 in his next NSW innings. Oh the irony Dave. It has also been good to see the likes of Cameron White and Usman Khawaja show some consistency throughout the competition. There's also been some other great performances from the likes of Ben Cutting, even if it was with the bat!
If anybody is free today in Oz, you should be watching Victoria vs NSW. Victoria are 0/190 off 27 overs - Dan Christian is 100* (Yes, the million dollar IPL man) from 71 balls, Rob Quiney only on 86 from 92.
