Pics of my new Kookaburra bat from SD
« on: November 01, 2013, 06:17:59 PM »

Well,my new Kookaburra Menace Blitz bat arrived today from Sports Direct. It was delivered to my work so I haven't had a chance to try out the ping yet,but it looks a pretty good slab of willow for thirty quid! It's got eight straight grains and no knots or staining so I'm happy with that. The first picture is of the bat as it arrived plastered with bloody price stickers (why did they have to put THREE stickers on the face?).The rest are after the bat has been "de-priced".I haven't weighed it yet,but it feels good with a light pick-up.It's got one or two knocks and a small knick from having been in one of SD's shops, but is in pretty good shape overall. What do you think?

Nice stick mate, worth atleast 65-80 quids in looks, if it pings as good as it looks it would be nice bat. Thats a great VFM bat if it performs well.

Thanks for the comments, guys.I'd definately say I got a good deal with this one! I was fully expecting the bat to have some blemishes but it's a lovely clean piece of willow.A steal at the price, really.I just have one question for anyone who has one of these bats - the Kookaburra stickers on the back of the bat are lifting slightly at the edges in a few places, but the part that's lifting is the clear part which looks like it's covering the main coloured part of the sticker underneath.Does anyone know if it's a coating that can be removed, leaving the main sticker underneath? It's not a big issue, but it would look a bit better if the bit that was peeling could be removed.

That's common with most kookaburras, the top film coming off. I would just cut the lifted bits off while leaving the rest of the film on.
