Visit to Woodstock - Photo Album
« on: November 06, 2013, 10:29:47 PM »

Had a great day at Woodstock today, despite the rain.  Came away with some lovely new bats...

Hi Paul, so are these hand made by Woodstock or just finished?

Looks like you picked some nice bats either way?

I remember this being a contentious question in the past...

I think John does a lot more than people give him credit for, but I can't say any more than that on here.

stunning, mate.  I was blown away, genuinely! The lignum vitae mallet he had really emphasised this!  :) The pick-ups are incredibly light as well.  John really takes pride in his pick-ups and performance, I could tell.  He is very adept at finishing bats too! Really, really impressive bats.  My only concern is that we didn't stock them sooner!!

I know from a good source that all woodstock bats are made themselves and are not just finished by them as is the current rumour on here. They make excellent bats and need to get better coverage on here and I am delighted to see Paul stock them

Yeh but not every bat maker has their own press either. Pressing is important but so is shaping. Just because you're not pressing your own clefts, it doesn't mean you're not a bat maker. :)

I agree smokem. Just challenging the statement that he does everything. I know that Julian M gets his bats pressed by sondhi
