Smaller, Snugger Thighpads

For those of us who can't quite justify a set of Strettons I wondered if anyone knew of any thigh-pads that come up a little smaller or snugger, yet still have straps that fit around a real mans girth?

Basically I find my thigh pad a little too bulky in height between top of batting pad and waist. I do like the sort of pre-formed wrap around style, but I wonderd if someone did a slightly smaller one that didn't get in the way so much.

i have bought the slazenger xlite thigh pad at the end of the season so havent used it. i am slightly larger then average and they fitted we plenty of space if i indulge in too much over christmas

I'm a fairly big unit Fattus and use the p2 strippers - find them really comfortable and the size of the thigh pad is the most compact i've seen. I hate bulky thigh pads!

Just can't get on with strippers I'm afraid, find them a little too restrictive, and feel like I'm trussed up like a Christmas turkey!

I wondered how long it would take to flush you out in this topic!!

Take a pair of scissors to them????????????????? Sound like a recipe for disaster with my practical skills.

Actually those Slazenger thingies are begining to grow on me, they look like they have a little less 'pad' than the Strippers if you see what I mean.

How about something like these ?

They are cheap , can be cut to needed shape and glued up. They are compact too !. The protection and the quality of the elastic band is poor but will do the job.

i was quite impressed with how small but still have enough padding.

i used to use the woodworm ones and found it to be way to big and never stayed in place, constantly having to readjust them after running (jogging) a quick single.

i was the same, given the level i play at and how often i actually get hit in the thigh pad. they only cost me £25 i was very happy

I would recommend Shamrock or Ayrtek thigh pads like the ones in the sale section

They are compact and work nicely with the inner thigh pad which is what is struggled with Aerp P2's.

Problem is by the time you have experimented with a few different thigh pads/batting shorts for £20 a pop that £100 for the strettons wouldn't have seemed so expensive.
