Fun and exciting time
« on: November 23, 2013, 01:00:59 PM »

Ok just going through a few of our grade ones that we had delivered and just cleaned a couple up and got them down to width ready for pressing. This is the fun bit because you are looking at the cleft in its rough state and spotting which ones look like the perfect cleft. Then you clean them up and then press them and keep hoping that you can do the best for it as it goes through the process. Remember the tree has been growing for 20 years plus so we have got to show it some respect and give it the best treatment we can. A couple are cleaned and the others are just as they arrive so gives you an idea how we start if you haven't seen before.

Lovely clefts mate.

I was at Wright Cricket today and so a bat with a knot at the toe, it added so much strength. It got me thinking about your butterfly stain bats. Do you have any with knots or butterfly stains near the toe?
