Gray Nic's Vortex
« on: November 27, 2013, 04:15:56 PM »

Had a look at one of these the other day and actually liked the look and feel of it a lot, was wondering what the retailers think of this model and if they have done any reviews on these.
Would be interested to see what they think in terms of pick up, feel and performance.

Thanks

Yes, I was very impressed with these Vortex bats, and we have shot a video review of the bat, which should be up on YouTube within the next 48 hours. For me, it picks up the lightest of all the Gray-Nicolls bats, and some of the ones there were immense off the mallet. Lovely choice for the touch player/accumulator! :-)

Here's our review, mate: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ocTUHyjWWaI

If I was to ever get a Gray-Nicolls bat for myself, this would be the one...

They are tempting. A Vortex Aeroblade at £115 would have made me twitchy!

Haha I forgot about the X181.  That is the other Gray-Nics bat I could see myself using, but the Vortex has a je ne sais quois for me still...  :)

Paul,

Thanks for the review I do like the oblivione41 but I also really like the Vortex as well. Bit of a strange one as I am a bit of a power hitter and like the amount of wood the Vortex has in it's spine. That LE did look amazing and sounded a good one as well.

The vortex looks like a good stick. Wouldn't mind checking one out.

I quite like the Vortex myself having seen a couple in the flesh, nice traditional profile with a modern Twist.

That however is one not great looking L.E and I do see that being a bit of a trend this year with top end GN bats that the appearance and the blades do not look to warrant the price that an L.E commands. Anyway between the Vortex and Nemesis I would choose a Vortex

Lots lol.

I'll be using all my HH gear in league cricket and will rotate all the others. Really like my GN & Kook gear, that will get a lot I'd use on Sunday and all the others midweek etc

Got 3 or 4 people who need pics of various bats. I'll sort all of you out in bulk on Monday. :)
