Evening all.
Just thought tonight I would post up my hand picked Oblivion e41 that Jake picked for me when he and Robin visited Robertsbridge last week. I have a good selection of GN bats as I have always found there bats to perform really well across all ranges, so much so that with GN I see no benefit in paying the price tag for an L.E as the one area that I have been critical of GN in the past is that there can be very little difference in terms of looks & appearance between mid range and top end.
In this instance I can honestly say this I think is one of the finest 5 star bats ever produced and puts a lot of L.E and even mst of the Strauss powerbow bats to shame that I saw on the forum. This bat weighs 2.8 and has a 41mm edge and the edges are the same size on both sides, this may sound a silly thing to day but there were a few oblivion e41 last year that had differences in edge sizing.
This bat has 11 straight and even grains and the blade is basically clean with no heartwood on the blade. How this was a 5 star I don't know but I am certainly not going to complain. Pick up is very good and rebound from an old ball is also very good, but I am yet to find a poor performing GN in recent times anyway. Also really like the new block stickers.
My only negative with GN bats of late has been that the handles are quite thin, still oval and fell better with gloves on then in just the hand but they have got a lot smaller over last couple of seasons. Another grip underneath sorts the problem though
Here are some pics and hope you like the bat. Once again big thanks to Jake and if you want a hand picked bat from my experience Jake pics amazing bats for all his customers
