Nice selection there mate. Which do you like the most? And why did you TAS your Kudos?

The Kudos belongs to Mark (wickets-then-runs). He can probably answer that question.

I honestly couldn't pick between them although I didn't hit with the Kudos. I will try it next time. They all smashed the ball.
The SS, GM and TT are mine. It was my first hit with the GM and TT. They are impressive. The Argon came from Lorimers. Not the best looking grains (just like every SPS I own) but that doesn't worry me. I would rather have an ugly bat that plays well than a pretty bat that feels ordinary (there have been a few).
The Screaming Cat was good. I was pleasantly surprised.

If it was me or Canners in the nets with that selection, we would still be there... (until the evening I suspect!!)

TT is interesting - I've had a couple of people say theirs were planks, and the ones I've picked up never seemed 'chunky' enough - however I've always fancied one.

What is the weight of the TT?

I've personally got a 2lb 10 TT 5 star that goes quite well and has a suprisingly decent pickup for the design.

It's 2.8. If you want a bat that performs make sure it's an SPS.

Agreed, there's the odd one that seems decent - however the ones that I have seen have been very poor in terms of size and they've never responded well. For me this should be Newberys flagship bat as it brings a lot of 'wow factor' to their brand(until the kudos was released) and for me, they haven't picked the right sort of willow to use as it seems they have always used the heavier clefts which is why they always seem small for the weight.

Have you owned a lot of Newbery's? Does a bat need 40mm edges and a 70mm spine to perform?

No, I have not owned one Newbery as they have never appealed to me, I have had bats made by the same people as them. The TT was probably the bat that I liked the most out of the Newbery range however from my personal opinion they could have been made using a better choice of willow.

Bigger brands will have a selection of willow, of which some is used for the top end range and some for the bottom end range etc - not only grades, but weights of the blades and instead of using some of the normal weight willow for the TT's, it seems they have used the heavier willow, as one would assume that with the TT shape(it a T20 style bat), it would look bigger than other bats in the Newbery range that are SH as there is less height on the blade - the many TT's I have seen have looked very underwhelming.

No, I am not one of those advocates - however having been in the cricket business myself, there are things they could have done better with this bat to make it more appealing. Pretty much every TT that I have picked up in stores around the country, I have just as quickly dismissed it due to the poor willow that has been used - let alone some of them feeling very poor on the pick up, however there is the odd gem as there are with every model/grade/bat out there of which I hope yours is.

Really? The most responsive bat i've ever played with is my Players GT, and the Uzi i've picked up recently feels very nice!

I thought the uzi looked small as it doesn't have much spine, but it's bigger than my GT. It's just that the willow goes right across the blade rather than only in the centre.

I know someone who has had 2 TTs, both have been gun shows!

If you haven't owned a an SPS you are missing out. I read a quote on this forum along the lines of "the Newbery SPS range is the benchmark for performance". It was written by a guy who owns well in excess of a hundred bats so I figure he must have a clue.
I own 3 Newbery SPS bats and a Players. Of the 60 odd bats I currently own they are the best. There are other bats in my collection that perform as well as they do but they are at the top of the tree.
My TT has 35mm edges. This makes it the biggest of the Newbery bats that I own. I can't think of a Newbery model that is much larger than this. Thruxton, GT, Uzi - none of them are big bats.
I have a Thruxton SPS with 30mm edges and a spine that must only be 35mm if that. It looks like a toothpick and weighs 2lb 9oz. The only bat that has hit the ball harder is my MMi Super Premium and the difference is marginal.
I own a Joker which weighs 2.10.5 and only(!) has 35mm edges. A T20 bat with tiny edges like that. What were they thinking??
It still performs just as you would expect a Joker to perform.

It's all personal preference.

From all of the TTs that I have seen, they have hugely underwhelmed me.

As you have said, you're basing the performance to a Joker - which is £80 cheaper. I know which I would prefer.
