Linseed Oil
« on: December 03, 2013, 01:37:33 PM »

Anyone got a good place to get linseed oil on the cheap?

Can any of the forum sponsors help?

Thanks in advance!

The bottle size in the slazenger bat care pack is also minuscule, and it's not exactly leak-proof.

It is super tiny. Not worth it.

I actually bought the bat car pack just for the bat cone, I saw 7 at the store, only one was clean, all the others were covered in linseed oil.

Got mine from B & Q about 20 years ago, still loads left even after giving half a pint to a mate.
Recently made up some bat wax with some of it.

How much did you buy mate?? I was tempted by the 5litre bottle but thought that would outlast a lifetime considering how little you actually use to oil a bat haha

They only had 1 litre bottles, made sure it was raw and not boiled. That's about 200 to 250 coats :D

Glad I didn't get the 5L then! I plan on making more wax as it's much easier IMO, should be yers worth though  :D

Stupid question, but is there any difference between say GM linseed oil and GN linseed oil? I wouldn't have thought so, but you never know...
