New bat for 2010 - Redback or Bulldog?
« on: September 25, 2009, 09:41:27 AM »

Hi All,
I'm thinking of getting a custom made bat for the 2010 season, I know it's a way off but I thought I'd ask people their opinions now so I had some time to decide over the winter period.
I play my cricket in Cumbria making the pitches quite soggy most of the time, which means the ball stays low.
I'm thinking of either a Redback Allegiance or a Bulldog Pedigree (I would request them to have a lower middle if possible). I prefer a bat around the 2.7 weight, if anyone give me some guidance or even suggest another bat you think might be appropriate, I would very much appreciate it.

Cheers

Redback 100%, don't think i've ever read or heard a bad report regarding them.  Even Talisman rates him slighty ;)

Whoa there, my praise is little and scarce, not sure Gary deserves it as he prefers shopping in Ikea to sorting out his best customer!

I own a Bulldog Basher and Pedigree, both a great bats especially the Pedigree.  I would have no hesitations in recommending them as I have had no problems either with service or perfomance.  Plus I like the bold and brash stickers and the fact that so few people have them!

But I think you can not go wrong with a Redback either judging by all the reviews I have seen

Hi Middler,

We have a few of this seasons Pedigrees still in stock. All have nice low middles. If you are intersted just email me and we can sort out a great deal as we need to clear them for next years stock.

Give Gary a ring, he is the batmaker and only sells English willow bats made by himself. Absolutely no contest in my opinion as a bat geek and willow supplier, Redback wins with a knockout from the first punch thrown.

haven't seen many bulldogs around but loads of good redback reviews. Apparently, 'the sweet spot runs the full length of the blade'!

Thanks guys, I think I'll go with a Redback. I'll get hold a Gary towards next season and get my order in - unless there's a pedigree going half price Bulldog?

I can't comment as to which bat is better, asI have never used a Bulldog!
But am qualiified to say that it would take an awesome bat to be anywhere near as good as my Redback is!!

That said, I think Middler made his mind up a few months ago!
So would be interesting to get an update and find out if he ordered a Redback?
And if so, he should post pics!  ;D
