Some new ones from Gunn & Moore
« on: December 13, 2013, 04:54:38 PM »

We have some new offerings from the 2014 GM range.

The flat faced Purist F2 model with the thickest edges and the new Six6 F4.5 which has the new slightly curved face. Based upon the Zona which was the new model introduced last year, this years Purist F2 takes that radical Zona shape and tones it down a little, to help give it that perfectly balanced feel along with the confidence of looking down to see a bat with very thick edges and a an enlarged swell behind the main hitting area.

We've taken a number of pictures to show whats available as well as the difference in shapes and profiles between the 2 ranges all of which have available in the 606, 808, Original and Original LE.

Side profile view of the Six6 shows that even with the curved face, the bat still has very thick edges.

Top of the range Limited Edition model, selected to have the best perfomance but good looking too.

The Purist F2 and Six6 F4.5 side by side shows the huge swell of the Purist model, but the equally impressive
profile of the Six6.

Front view of both the Purist and Six6

Here you can see why GM introduced the new F4.5 profile, it gives you the choice of a slightly curved face or flat.

Side by side front and they both look so similar

Some of the Purists currently in stock.

There is no concaving on the Purist. If you see a couple of the photos above it should show this, if not I can post some more.

...just because a bat is concaved does not mean it won't play better than a bat that isn't!

I was in at Greg Chappell Cricket Centre yesterday and they had the Six6 Joe Root Player Edition (the only Six6 they stock) but wanted $925au for it!!!! The Shane Watson Player Edition was $825au! Why the difference in price?
How much do the Six6 Player Editions go for in the UK?

Having just ordered an original six6(from elsewhere) seeing that original purist has quite upset me.

Gunners and moore claim the original is "g1 willow with some small blemishes"

A big blemish across the hitting zone is disappointing for a 300quid bat!

Player Editions are the same price, regardless of model. The Shane Watson could have been a model from a previous season? GM did up their prices this year.

We sell Player Editions for 450 GBP. About as cheap as i can find anywhere.

425 was last years price. Must update our site soon. :)

The flare original i mentioned to you has that kind of mark, but much higher up the blade, under the stickers. I'll make sure i get a bat you are happy with mate, don't worry. :)

Don't let the blemishes worry you. On this particular bat for example, a quick mallet test and there is no difference in sound or feel around this area, so although visually it may not look too pretty, in playing terms its still perfect. So basically if it were without the blemish it would be an Original LE and considerably more expensive.

I have read a few comments about GM not allowing retailers to hand pick - yes thats true, but to us it makes no difference so long as we know they will supply us with top quality blades that we can display with pride and sell with confidence. If ever we receive any bats that we are no entirely happy with and yes that has happened before, then without any question they arrange for them to be collected and one of the GM team select some more for us.

We've stocked GM bats in our store since the 1970's, so we like to think they know the kind of bats we like by now  :)
