When they recieve say 1000 clefts I can assure you there is no way that 50% are grade 1 when graded by wrights. At best it would be more like 100 clefts.

I beloved the CK22 was limited to I thought 50 bats but I assume that's not the case. Has anyone got one yet and can they comment, also interested to hear how they find the finish.

How many bats would M&H & Salix produce in a year? If they produce say 1000 bats and they only get for instance 300-400 g1 & g2's per 1000 clefts there is going to be a lot of wastage. What would be the fate of the clefts that didn't make the grade?

There not wasted mate there just used to make the other bats. Can't talk for M&H but Salix has the wasp stinger at the bottom of the grade scale then select, performance, Grade one, players and finite. So this range allows you to use G3/2/1.

I would agree with you Dave and as I have told many of our customers that BAS bats are the best value for money . If u can play with medium to heavy weight (2.12) then best buy is BAS compared to any other bat.
We have to keep every brand ( well most of the good brands) as there are certain customers who like specific brands.

Thanks, I was just thinking as Salix & M&H are very much high end bat producers if they were having to buy grades that they weren't able to use (as most of the range is G1 & G2) then that would obviously push up the cost.

Don't forget HitsHard!

The HitsHard range has been created because of this very problem, Jon...

Yes as well as HitsHard.

What M&H do I don't know, maybe they make for other small companies in Somerset way and that allows them an outlet for there lower grade willow.  I'm not going to say they upgrade G2 and sell as grade one as I have no idea. All I know is I wouldn't be over the moon if I recieved a couple of those CK22 bats if I had paid £425.

One of yours almost found its way into my kit bag mate, exceptional off the mallet and it was one of the power models at the bottom of the HH range.

Honestly all the salix bats I have in stock are all exceptional off the mallet, really pleased with them. My son Uzi was going through them and he couldn't find a bad one which he didn't like. Sold one of the salix pod G1 today. They may not look brilliant but believe me they will play better than what the label says.
Chris r u coming to our shop with Simon as he is planning to visit us next week

£425!!!!
Ive gotta say, life is way too short to spend that on a bat, that doesn't 'look' as if it's had the attention of the majority of other bats out there!
I think it's immaterial how it plays,at that price point.
Top performance should be a given

But so should looks.

Just look at the quality of a butterfly Aldred bat at a quarter of that price.

As an afterthought, my son says, most of the lads at Somerset, turned up with these bats at the first nets
Makes his Affinity stand out hopefully

Price is £385 ;)
I do agree with you that M&H bat prices are high compared to other bats in the market and we do get customers who only want to buy M&H.  For that reason we have to stock. Around Somerset M&H is very popular
