Injury Rates-Research
« on: December 18, 2013, 05:40:18 PM »

Hi Guys,

I'm doing some research for my dissertation on injury rates  as most of the research in cricket seems to be slightly outdated.
So just wondering if you have a spare few minutes could you fill this in please.

Made me feel like a bit of a warrior when i ticked most of the boxes relating to injuries, including fractures etc, but then realised i didn't miss any games.

It's normal for a keeper to play an entire season with a broken finger i suppose...

I got injuries but got them outside of cricket, but then they got worse by playing cricket. Still played on though, just cut out things like football, gym, cycling, running etc, which I haven't really put back in.

Done, having broken my little finger with one game to go I taped it up, cut my batting gloves up to fit and played the last game.

Then had surgery and pins in my finger for 5 weeks, so I didn't miss playing, just lucky, but it throws your figures out on time spent not playing.

Any club should embrace a good programme for rehab.

Good luck with the work.

Done. Barring my knee in 2010 I've been injury free. Weirdly even going back purée knee when I did loads of sport and fitness I didn't used to get injured. Still, still resulted in a massive knee injury though so not exactly lucky
