Masuri Refurb
« on: December 23, 2013, 01:48:28 AM »

My black masuri titanium is starting to look a little bit worn so I decided rather than buy a new helmet I'd just refurbish it. The main thing was the shell; looks a bit dirty, fabric is tearing and I think the peak may be cracked a little..so I've ordered a new black shell which should restore it back to a good quality. The titanium grill itself is fine but the foam pieces became loose and the glue that holds them dried up. I'm ordering new foam pieces for the side so I'll re apply those. The titanium stickers on the side are peeling and looking worn but I like them and would like to know if I could get replacement stickers? I was also thinking of a grill respray? is it easy to paint over the grill? or will I need special paint to do this or just not bother at all..help would be appreciated!

My shell is also pretty worn and think that I'll be ordering a new one as well. Titanium sticker wise you can actually order them direct from Masuri I believe, if this really matters to you. Mine came loose so after a bit of work getting rid of the glue it's now just looking like a steel grille without the labels. I'm not fussed though, as long as I know it's titanium and protects my face that's all I care about. Ear pads wise are also the same, either email Masuri or look them up online, there's websites that sell them. Personally just using some black tape to keep them on.

Which site have you gone with for the ear pieces? I managed to get a reply from them when I emailed them. Not sure that it took as long as 4/5 days mind
