Who's Got Proper Wheels?
« on: December 25, 2013, 07:32:22 PM »

In the wake of MJ putting the fear back into fast bowling I wonder if they could ever do this type of competition again. The guys in the video are always seen as the quickest and some of the results are quite surprising.

Get a couple quickies from each nation on a flat one at Perth and see who is the actual quickest.

Thompson comes across as a right Lad in this as well, Love it!

Can't get the video to play, so cant see properly what year was this from, I suspect its from the pre helmet days can anyone advise. Never mind Stretton Fox gear I think old Finbarr might have needed a new pair of "Underwhackers" if I had to face them lads.

Duncan Spencer was quite good, I can't believe such a good bowler actually existed.
Kent v Glamorgan 1993. Duncan Spencer roughs up Viv Richards.

Another reason that Thommo won the fastest bowler is that he was consistently bowling full bungers. I think all the others were pitching it which slows the ball down.

I faced duncan a heap, serious wheels.  First time I was batting in the nets at the waca and duncan and other guys were bowlng off for a place in the wa u19's, so pretty fired up.  I was getting some practice for the up coming u16 tournament,  went into the nets without a lid which wasnt well received......one way to get youre feet moving......
