Root - hyped up by the English media on the back of a decent debut. Could well be the next superstar but needs to work a lot to live up to the hype surrounding him.

Pujara - run machine! Easily the better of the two players, will have a great career as he's truly world class.

One came into a side that had already gone through a major transition and was given a clear role in that side. The other came into a side on decline and has been asked to bat in 3 different slots already.
Both good players. Pujara has had it easier so far in his career than root, so not easy to compare them in my opinion.

Pujara's had it easier?

You for real?

He's come in and replaced an all time great(Dravid). Big shoes to fill.

Saw some of Pujara's stats earlier.

3 First Class triple hundreds
6 double hundreds(2 of which are in Test matches)

26 first hundreds.

And he's only 25.

Scary good in my book.

Don't know why but I just don't rate Root.
Nor Bresnan, Broad or Bairstow for that matter

I didn't say that Pujara had it easy, just think that he has had it easier than Root that's all.

It a interesting debate I know which I would like in my team for sure but looking at there test in innings yes hey have batted a similar number of times.

Pujara has had to wait to get in the team and to say he has had it easy is a kind of flippant remark.

Root has had it easy mate he replaced a guy who did not deserve dropping and is or was the nation darling he could do no wrong.

I have no doubt Root will turn out ok but let's give the lad a chance he is ok but not great currently

Why has Pujara had it easier mate ??

My take is batsman score runs bowlers take wickets

All I said was, that in my opinion he has had it easier than Root, which is not flippant.
My reasons as to why are in my first post mate.

Sorry your right flippant was supposed to say throw away.

Your right all opinion based will be a good summer I think as a England fan I hope we can get some stability and quality into the side.

So he has only played on wickets that in the old days would have been called "Featherbeds"
