For those questioning if Joe Root is good enough, he was 4th highest run scorer in 1st class cricket this year. Which shows hw has something about him. All he needs is a bit of time and stability and I think he could become one of the best. Whether it is opening, 3, 5 or 6, he needs a number he can call his own.

And yes, for the Aussies, Chris Rogers topped the chart.

Root reminds me of a young Bell. He needs alot of time and nurturing.

Surprising to see Cook up there at No 4. Didn't think he'd had a great year - but still managed to grind out 900+ runs.

Compton 4 100s 9 50s and 4 0s and still gets an average of over 40. with some of the other faces included in that list it just shows that stats mean absolutely nothing. ali ekersley and ballance all having a good season too. outscoring some of the big boys.
