Octane is super low swell. Big edges.

Argon is mid to low swell, big ish edges.

On your basis of play, I'd pick the argon,

If your just a front foot bully the octane.

Strange you choses are between an octane and an f7 argon. As an f2 argon would be a closer comparison.

The f2 has more power across the blade apparently for off centre shots, but will twist when edged if your not got the hand strength to keep it in check.

The f7, not so much power near to the edges, but more control, and less likely to spin in your hands(apparently)

Strangely, I get a blank in the end after providing all the information. Does that mean that there is no bat at GM that suits my style of play?  ???

If you want a Big bat then Octane F2
Argon has better pickup
Depends on your style of play
Octane if you are an aggressive player and also play lot of T20 games
Since you going for an Original i'll say Argon
here's a pic showing both side by side
Octane is 3oz heavier than Argon in the pic

Similar to the other posts I would say Argon if you are playing both front and back foot shots. The pick up for me felt alot better on the Argon than Octane, obviously as a result of the higher middle on the Argon and the extended spine higher up the blade. So unless you're on the front front foot all the time would say Argon (although even if I only played front foot I would personally still not get the Octane)

I have an Octane, it is lovely.

my view is that the argon has a better shape, the octane better stickers...

Argon' pickup is way lighter than an Octane. But if pickup is not an issue, and you are a front foot player, I would recommend the Octane. It aint called the Octane for nothing!

Definitely buy both. You can never have too many. I have an Argon. Can't go wrong with an LE.
