Just a quick question regarding this. As I am currently recovering from a ruptured spleen, and the doctors say it's not possible, even though it's the only "trauma" to happen to me.
Basically.
A net on Sunday 15th if December resulted in me taking a bouncer to my left side, just below the ribs(bowler 75-80mph). Smarted at first. But 30 seconds later I was fine and carried on the net. Batted and bowled.
Friday 20th I was suddenly struck with pain in my abdomen and shoulder and rushed to hospital.
Ct scan revealed my spleen was ruptured. Thankfully not enough for removal.
Doctors immediately asked about recent trips falls accidents, only thing that occurred was the above incident.
Doctors ruled this out as a) it wasn't severe enough to rupture a spleen and they'd have alsorts of sportsman in every week if it could.
And b), time frame was too far in between.
So they said it was an infection which must have weakened my spleen.
I was released on 29th, and am recovering at home.
Just been for a check up, all result off infection are clear, so I'm being asked again if there was an incident that led to the trauma. But there was only the cricket ball.
Anyone ever heard of this? Or am I just perfectic and weak? Lol.
