My two special bats
« on: January 03, 2014, 07:08:43 PM »

Thought I would post a pic of my two best bats - one some of you have seen, one you definitely haven't (Apart from Dean).

Bat 1

B3 3-Stripe Bespoke I brought from SimonMay. An absolutely gorgeous piece of willow - Blemish-Free, Grains through the toe etc. Edges are ofsted to the middle, creating a bigger sweetspot. Superb bat, best I have ever owned.

Vital Stats

Weight: 2lb 9oz
Size: Mens Short Handle
Grains: 14
Concaving: Minimal
Edge Size: 34mm
Spine Height: 60mm
Middle: Mid/Low
Profile: Newbery Kudos/Safbats Hades

Bat 2

Second is a bat which I was given as a present from a father of a son I teach. It was given to him by a Notts batsman called Alex Hales. One of his many, many bats which he is given/made - but this one is from Choice Cricket, not made at the GM factory. I sent it to be refurbished and Vantage very kindly donated some stickers for it (Once they saw the bat for themselves of course). It has a ridiculously light pickup and a stupidly high number of grains!

Vital Stats

Weight: 2lb 9.7oz
Size: Mens Short Handle
Grains: 18
Concaving: Minimal
Edge Size: 39mm
Spine Height: 64mm
Middle: Mid
Profile: Choice Willow Praetorian Limited Edition

Cheers guys! :)

Bats look great but is there a reason other than a typo that it says 'Hancrafted' rather than 'HanDcrafted'?

Maybe it was crafted by a man called Han?

Off the mallet - incredibly well!

I'm in two minds whether to keep it or not. It's a great bat but not sure how much use it will get

Han Solo never used a light sabre, his weapon of choice was a blaster pistol, but it looks too well finished for that  ;)

MAJOR mistake! They were free but didn't realise they were designed by a dyslexic!
