You bat in the first video like the bowling is a little too easy for you.

Your probably right, think machine was only on about 70-72. Can't really remember.

Did anyone else notice the bloke netting on the far right? I only watched for the first minute or so but he barely played any shots or moved at all. Looked to be already set and just dropped his bat on the ball when it arrived, really making use of the net session

He's the owner of the net. And wasn't using a bowling machine, just his fellow net owner doing some thrown downs.

He's a pretty good player. Plays top level in sheffield on a sat, not including ecb premier.
But thankfully when we played them midweek last year, he was run out for 1. He slipped on a damp pitch by choosing not to run on the artificial.

looked to have an interesting technique, maybe in a match he just knows how to score runs.

I find a lot of "net" batsmen cant get the ball off the square in a match. Look great in the nets playing all these correct looking shots but in a match its no use at all to them when it comes to scoring runs. So obbsessed with the mechanics of the shots they forget that they are just out there to score runs and not look good. If you can do both then great!

Ha ha, that bought back some memories. Back in the day we had a lad a bit like that, but to be fair he did begin to prosper in games and became a decent player. Initially his nickname (due to the mechanics) was 'The Robot'.
