Change color of pads
« on: January 09, 2014, 03:02:12 PM »

I have a pair of really good pads used in IPL, but blue in color.

And the grounds where we play our weekend friendlies as well as 20-20 tournaments allow only white clothing and equipment.

Has anyone used any coloring to change pads. I want to spray it up (if possible) to change it to white.

Cheers

Clads are available in grey, which looks more like white to me in pictures.

Spraying them will work, but not for a long time, and I suspect you'll need a few coats to prevent the colour underneath showing through.

Thanks a ton for the responses folks. So do you suggest that I just keep them as is and hope to play some colored clothing cricket?

Spraying doesn't look too good, I guess.

The issue with a color pad spray painted white is that it will look really shinny,  not a problem if your playing in coloured gear,  but a bit much for whites!

You could achieve a Matte/Dull finish by using a roller once the pad has been sprayed but the paint has not dried yet...although from experience painting pads is not worth the hassle. Better off with buying the colour you need/want
