Salix Pod One Black batting gloves
« on: January 10, 2014, 07:18:24 PM »

Have always wanted a pair of these and was very fortunate to spot and snap up a brand new pair earlier this week, arrived today.

Will post photographs over the weekend.

They are Youth size, however, for me as an adult fit perfectly, same as Small Men's in other brands.

The Pittards black palms are quite unique.

Really pleased with them and may seek out new matching pads.

Have a Pod bat from the same era.

Your collection must be quite substantial by now Alan? :)

Have sold on some gear recently so not too much of a collection as such (although have more kit than is really needed).

These gloves were purchased on ebay from Lorimers for £40 delivered which I thought was very reasonable. They provided accurate information regarding the sizing e.g. that Youths would be suitable.

Delighted with these.

Just a question. Do they do the black palm because there grips stain white gloves?

I've always been tempted by gloves with coloured palms as I'm a bit fussy about keeping my kit in good condition. Getting red marks on the palms from a damp ball when knocking up annoys me.

I'd seen the puma 6000 gloves too, has anyone used them? Just wondering if those or the Salix are better.

I've got a pair of Salix pod blacks. Got them second hand off ebay for £20 and they were like new. They do leave black marks on light grips an as I had white grips on my bats they soon looked terrible. As a result I stopped using them, but intend to have them as my match gloves next season with darker grips on my bats. They are lovely gloves though and look very classy.
