What are these marks??
« on: January 14, 2014, 10:44:33 PM »

Hi guys

Just wondering if anyone knows what these marks are??
I love the bat and think they add character, but I have no clue what they are.
Just curious really.

Please excuse the photos, bad light and an iPhone (but you can see the marks clearly)

Hi mate, might be worth asking Perkins17 - he is almost certain to know considering he may even have had a hand in making it.

They are the remnesce of a butterfly which I tend to find "ping" very well. It has no effect on the bat in a bad way and is only really round in lower grade stuff due to it not looking very pretty in a shop to the average buyer.

Thank you for confirming mate.
I can tell you now the bat pings very nicely.

And as far as only being lower grade willow, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I'd rather have a bat like this any day than a perfectly clean face (but I'm a strange creature).
