Base Layers
« on: January 17, 2014, 03:18:07 PM »

Afternoon chaps.

So, base layers. Do any of you use them? I've been using the Canterbury Cold Gear top for a couple of seasons now and it's in dire need of replacement. Whilst I've been happy with the warmth it provides on cold April days, the fit leaves a little to be desired - the arms tend to be a little on the short side for me, and I'm not exactly a gorilla.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

ta!

The Under Armour cold range is pretty decent, nice roll neck collar too.  I've used one for three seasons now and the sleeve length seems fine.

I use them at cricket no matter the heat, midweek, Saturday, Indoor netting.

Used pretty much all the makes and can honestly say the best ones i've used and are currently using are these

They are brilliant, fit well, are comfy, keep you warm/cool when needed. They hold there shape after many many washes and don't stretch like most others do.

and at £13 are a bargain!

I did look at those but wasn't convinced that they were any good - I guess the price point put me off! Well, for £13 they're worth a shot I suppose! Cheers!

If you are in need of tights, I can recommend the Kooga (rugby brand) tights

No problem, Imran, I find Under Armour gear in general very good, washes and keeps in shape well too.  The blokes on the website are huge, though, I don't look like that when I wear mine!

I'm using a Nike long sleeve and Adidas short sleeved one from sports direct at the moment.
Nice and cheap and do the job.

Can advise against the kookaburra ones as the arms are too short and will say the woodworm ones are alright if a bit thick.

Can't knock this stuff. I have loads of it in various colours for training.

I wear skins ice for matches.

Can't go wrong with the Skins A200 range, or the A400 if you want something top end.

A400 is really premium! I have A400 sleeves and they are incredibly well made BUT even they cost me £30!

I wear Under Armour Heatgear. Works a treat!
