Looking for a few games
« on: January 20, 2014, 07:10:17 AM »

Hey guys

I'm planning on travelling to Europe in May through to about August and I was wondering, how hard would it be for me to play maybe one or two games for a club?

Are there restrictions on overseas players, even if they only play one or two games?

Also, does anyone know of any clubs that would let me play one or two games? The competition which I play in over in Australia is pretty reasonable but not amazing.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

If you're coming to London we could probably help you out - always on the lookout for the odd extra body!

Hi mate

Where abouts are you travelling to?

If you are anywhere around the South Yorkshire area we would be more than happy to accomodate you!

Thanks for the replies guys.

I'm still yet to sort my route out so I'm actually quite flexible. I want to see a bit of UK, so I think I'll be over for about a month.

Would you guys be able to PM me with your clubs details or website and I can give you some information on the standard that I play.

Thanks

Depends which ground you are playing at mate... ???

@HillingdonManor - Have you tried digging up the outfield? I bet you'd find a few bodies there... ;)

You can most likely squeeze in a gome or two in Norway if you are over here.

We are occasionally on the lookout for an extra player or two, especially in August.

We play here, http://www.hac.org.uk/home/about-the-hac/estate-treasures/armoury-house/

A bit special!

Keep in touch.

Actually its odd you say that, our Third XI ground (Coney) had a lot of the outfield dug up by Centrica last winter and there were quite a few interesting finds - of course, the mound behind the pavilion is also a medieval burial site as well!

It's even more odd that you say that......under the HAC is a burial ground where they buried those poor souls suffering from leprosy.

What a lovely coincidence.

Makes a change from the burning motorcycles and looking for needles in the outfield. Always liked playing against Hillingdon Manor... Never liked playing AT Hillingdon Manor.

Then again, never been lucky enough to play at the RAF ground. Only the ground you use when you don't have access to that.

You've been pretty unlucky there mate - we've only used that for three 1st or 2nd XI games in six years!
