First foray into softs....
« on: January 20, 2014, 09:32:03 PM »

Evening all,

This is my first foray into softs......these are my keeping line.....leather on the gloves are super soft, pads are ultra light weight! Wanted a balance between something different but also attempt classy.....excuse the bad pictures!!

Thoughts would be appreciated people?

O like the snake skin on the gloves, but not a fan of the blue facing. Also the logo on the gloves looks a touch big for me, but I think 'less is more' on branding and am a big fan of newberry sps softs.

The colour scheme on the gloves is very striking, but I can't say I'm keen on the pads. The positioning of the protection on them doesn't inspire me either.

Honest opinion:
Not a fan of the pads, they look too 'funky' and I don't like the black on the front. To me it should be all white up there.

Not sure if I like the keeping gloves or not, they look a bit like a cross between the Ton keeping gloves & a handbag but the colours scheme is decent.  :)

Thoughts appreciated guys!

Logo looks bigger than it is actually on the glove....perhaps contradicting these gloves, I'm also a fan of simple, plain and classy (I attempted that with my batting pads and gloves).

Pads are brilliant, probably my favourite item so far...they are really light and feel great on.

Hey Dev Aussie, these are a great start.  The pads are personally not my cup of tea... I am more of a traditionalist and prefer your normal run of the mill items.  But I do see a lot of lads wearing the more modern designs these days.

The gloves are a great start.  I think you could you replace the snakeskin look with a bit of artic or desert camouflage to get a similar effect that appeals to a wider audience.  Also on the palms you could continue with the complimentary camouflage or go for white with black and silver highlights of some sort.

I personally love the gloves, if the snakeskin and palms were pink I would probably be spamming you with messages to buy them!

The pads, I don't like them particularly. The traditional pad is still the one for me. Modern style ones are popular though.

How is the protection level of the gloves? Does it have a gel protection?

I like a modern style pad and if as mentioned before you removed the black from the front of these and they were nice and lightweight I think they would do alright.
Gloves are a bit too out there for me but I'm sure some will like them

With the gloves, maybe jchange the web and thumb white leather while the rest could stay in the snakeskin, also possibly just the brand logo on the cuff underneath the palm instead?

Just some food for thought

I like the gloves. The snake skin design looks quite swish. Though the logo could stand to be a little smaller.

Not a fan of the pads though. Don't get me wrong, I like some of the modern design pads, but I think a traditional pad is what I tend to go for.

Overall, a decent set of gear. What is pricing going to be like on these?

Hope you don't take this the wrong way but your brand logo looks like you have simply googled cricket silhouette and clicked 'save as'

Maybe try being more inventive as it looks very basic.

I like the overall design that you have for the gloves, though I think if you're going to have coloured palms then I think you'd be better of having them match the rest of the glove blue and not so navy?

I'm also the same with pads, prefer them traditional. A bit too "modern", and would certainly be appealing to only a small group of people IMO.
