Stretton Thigh Pads Vs the World
« on: January 22, 2014, 06:27:22 PM »

When something comes out claiming to be world class thigh protection in the past we have been let down by and large by Uk companies naming Buchannan's and ACE as the closest we have come to a rival to the unrivaled Remfry from Australia.

In the past i have owned all the thigh pads mentioned in this thread Remfry where streets apart from anything nothing compared to the thin, light  and protective qualities of them either they where too rigid and bulky in both cases with 2 other mentioned.

Strippers I'm not going to waste my time talking about there real protection sheet inside the form is tiny and there too bulky.

This might seem harsh assessments so far about the others but where talking world leaders in there field and i have to say Stretton have more than joined that field.

I wanted to do a Ashes type battle Uk v Australia of thigh pads but i know see what George meant by saying there not competing and i agree both have so many different merits and are as different as there similarities and in truth bar the similar level of protection there worlds apart in terms of design and other areas.

Remfry are a no frills made to measure thigh pads there organic and homemade in nature but are as slim and give unherleded protection until now.

Well what to say about Stretton Fox well there build quality is that of a German Car quality and performance  you get the feeling great care has gone into making them just right the stitching is unrivaled the protection well i tested with a proper metal hammer on both thighs and tried it on my arm it takes all the sting out and is as good as anything.

The feel of the product the straps even a lovely bag included which just ooze class like market leader can only do they leave you feeling yes there the best.
I was worried about no fixed points they even blew that out of the water very quickly.

I even have watched most videos on them and you can only say one thing Market Leaders in many ways George enthusiasm shines through and so does the quality of the product.

My wife asked my just now which are better them or my Remfry well they do the same thing in a different way and are two totally different products.

Would i buy Remfry again? No i wouldn't i would not say these are better or worst just different and the price is better but if your buying pads of this ilk there never going to be cheap anyway there quality but the this quality is on our doorsteps.

After trying all the top thigh pads over the last 5 years including Bas who are up there as well, Stretton Fox are unique and join the market leaders because of the style and quality of the product.

I could go into specifics about thickness and procreational qualities but there very similar in that respect but yet so different.

The Uk just got even in the World class Protection field great products.

Hope you enjoy the review cheers Adam for selling me them top stuff mate

George is a gent and fantastic to deal with. I would recommend anyone buy his products as both he and they are first class!

so you got lucky with the Mrs, whilst wearing a set of stretton fox thigh pads?

that is a new meaning to the hammer test.

Dave I salute you.

two things,
1, I hope you washed them afterwards
2, they won't offer that type of protection Dave, so you may have created a new future pro...!! :D

Currently using aero P1s, find them a bit bulky. Is it really worth shelling out £100 or so for an inner and outer? Look amazing but do they justify shelling out on when I'm spending excessively already?

Very simply mate yes they do. They will also outlast 3sets of Aero strippers so quids in mate. They are that good.

They're also fully bespoke instea of a "one size fits all" design so you really do get what you pay for.
Gavin gone from Aero to Strettons I can safely say its worth the investment

Haven't used Remfrys however I know 123* on here didn't like them due to them slipping down when running and keep having to adjust them whilst batting - Dan now has strettons and as far as I'm aware he loves his also!

I took the plunge with strettons and god I'm glad I did! George was fantastic throughout the procedure and even sorted me out with plain straps after I bought them so cant complain about after sales...he really is a top genuine bloke! - credit to you George.
Due to the service George offers I'm very confident in Stretton fox expanding, never mind the company expanding because of the product...however they are brilliant thigh pads. I used to use aero but found them too bulky and the straps where a tad big on the legs so having a completely customisable strap system meant Stretton fox stood out to me straight away, then when I found out you could mould them to your leg and get a great fit that was the cherry on the cake and I haven't looked back - very very comfortable!!!!

No there not unless you play at a very high standard

You can get thigh pads that more than do a job for under 20 quid but both stretton and remfry are the best.

As a user of the two best and strippers whic I agree are poor there thigh pads out there on a budget.

If you have the cash buy them you will not be disappointed but there are some decent of the shelf thigh pads out there
