Johnson to captain Australia in 4th ODI?
« on: January 22, 2014, 10:56:34 PM »

With George Bailey a slight doubt for the 4th ODI, and Clarke, Haddin and Watson all rested, it appears that Mitchell Johnson could be skipper for the 4th ODI against England. Granted, he's a massively different player to a few years ago, but is he captaincy material? Do we think his bowling will suffer with the extra responsibility?

When was the last time a bowler captained Australia?
I reckon finchy or Smith are better options however don't doubt Johnson could do the job but would need more VC experience

I don't recall Johnson having captained any sides at a domestic level so it's bizarre he's been named vice captain. Smith has captained NSW in both shield and 50 over formats this season, so IMO it's more likely he will lead the side if he's unwell.

I think a Monkey with a toffee up it's bum could captain Australia to a victory over England at the moment.

A more telling thread would be what XI will england put together for this game? What's the betting on minimal changes and the same result?

Just don't ask him for a toffee.

I'm not sure Smith is in, but he's talked up as a future Test Captain - not sure why?

Give a bowler a go, not like they can under or over bowl themselves!

Bailey did the press conference so i'd imagine he keeps his place.

Balance at it again. Struggling to get the ball of the square against maxwell.
After a solid start Morgan should have come in a 4. Send in one of the hitters
