I read somewhere that pro's often use lighter bats as they get older.

Paul Nixon said he was using heavier bats by the time he retired due to the decline in proper fast bowling more prevalent in the early days of his career.

Why won't they replicate it?
they said they don't normally make bats that light and it was a fluke I found it. Sorry for the off topic.

Yes I can believe that of nicko. He is about the same age as I am and what a top bloke and great cricketer.  Deffinately use heavier bats in club cricket now days when I play but the same principle when he was playing county cricket. He used to play against the likes of Donald, Ambrose, Walsh, akram, to name but a few where there slow days were top 80s early 90s mph the average pace in county cricket now is early 80s with the odd exception. Different ball game I can tell you. I was mediocre medium pace late 70s 80mph on a good day I would have been alright now, just my luck.

but....you wouldn't be able to make us lots of lovely bats and pass on your pearls of wisdom.

If you'd be playing now you'd be swanning around in a Bentley, off to the IPL and Big Bash, BUT you'd miss us!

Bentley! Ipl! Big bash! Hhmmmmm my mrs is debating that one. I must say I enjoy what I do now just as much as i did playing. I get the same satisfaction and love seeing happy faces walk out the work shop. And I always agree with my skippers decisions. Funny that. I am the captain in my workshop but not when I walk back in the house. Need to sort that one out really but we all know that ain't happening

Haha you'll need to slowly start moving into the workshop.

First a fridge, then a kettle, a microwave. Stack some clefts to support a mattress and you have your own willow cricket fort!

There was always a lot of medium fast medium in county cricket.

I see nothing has changed on the Aldred bat front - apart from stickers. Bats still looking the sex big man. Top work.
Not sure an the un-original sticker design.... but works well with the branding and premium bats you are knocking out. Nice work.

They look great in the flesh I have to say, I was unsure of changing but glad I did, they really finish off the brand shame pics don't do them as much justice though.
