They currently sponsor one of the most exciting young cricketers in the country - David Willey. They don't seem to be making the most of this, however.

Their branding is much improved, but they do still have an image problem.

They would probably described like a Tamagotchi. Great in their day but, in terms of image now, a bit uncool BUT with the potential to be great again!

I loved Hunts County until they switched to twin winged pads.

Been to there outlet a couple of times in Huntingdon great guys and they do have a very good selection.

They are quality products and i used a Uk made Clipper a few years ago the guy there knows how to make a very good bat indeed

A great example of what is about lower down the grades. Jake certainly sorted me out with something a few weeks back for a bargain price and you look to have sorted yourself out with something that looks great!

Hunts get a good amount of business making for other brands I think.
Charlotte Edwards and Lydia Greenway are great ambassadors for the brand.

Martin Berrill still sells them in Gloucester and said they have good deals with private schools going. He also sells to youngsters in the leagues round here who aren't well off a nice bat for relative pocket change.

Who used to make the woodworm bats then?

They were made in Asia.

OK. At Hunts?

I remember being (wrongly?) corrected about this.

100% were made in the UK at the start. The early Wands/Wizards were. Believe the Torch was always done by SS though.

am i right in thinking they made the mongoose bats at one point?
Year 1 every Mongoose was done by them. Even the Kashmir Jnr bats were shaped there. At a later date added production of India along with another UK manufacturer. But Hunts always did bits & bobs along with all repairs.

I have read the bat-maker there (Tony?) talking about making bats for Gower. Would that have been when he was sponsored by Open Championship, Tom?

just a quick update on this, the bat goes seriously well, maybe its the middle position that suited me but it did seem to go very well from the off. Bit suprised to here this could have been made in asia. Seems very english made to me, looking at the other more expensive hunts bats there, I can safely say the shape, profile, finishing was exactly the same.

Looks a lovely bat. Serious cricket tend to have some good bats to get. Got my Chase Volante off them, good price, and good performer.

Not quite sure why Hunts County don't get more attention. Their gear generally looks good, and performs well. A guy at my club has a Hunts County bat, not sure what model, and it is an absolute beast even though it looks like it is one hit away from oblivion!
