What shape is this?
« on: February 04, 2014, 06:47:06 AM »

Hello all, I'm looking to buy a new bat for the new season and have a photo of my bat from last year. It's most probably the best bat that I've owned and was wondering whether anybody knows if it is in fact a Kook recoil or is another Kook bat re-labelled? I know it's been re-stickered but not sure if it was replacement Recoils. I want to try and get an exact (or near enough) copy of this bat, so trying to find out details as I look to get a new stick. Any help is appreciated, thanks from the 'Newb'.

Does the bat have any stamps on the shoulders? Plus don't most Kookaburra bats have a model sticker under the grip?

Both are correct. How concaved is the bat? All kookaburra's are heavily concaved.

The bloke I got it from got it from the Kook factory I believe. Has "OS" on the top of the handle I know that much! I can't exactly remember it its original state, though I wouldn't say it was either no concaving or heavily. More heavily than not I would presume though I've had bats far more concaved. I don't believe there were stamps on the shoulders though...

phone up one of the sponsors, say Vitas, send the bat to them with your budget and ask them to pick you a new one.

could be a blade? (older red one)

Doesn't look like a recoil.. Middle is way to high and the edges are to small

This looks like the 2008 kooka ice.

When they didn't have the big edge stickers on the sides

I was thinking Ice or Beast, but it looks too high a spec bat to have been a lower end Beast and obviously has no graphite. Ice was definitely similar to this.

Photo was taken at the start of last UK season, it now is battered and bruised with mass amounts of tape and no stickers in sight!

If it was like that I'd say take it, it's a lovely shape!

I used it for the entire UK 2013 season, and it's certainly become my favourite bat that I've had. That's more to the point of trying to get a similar one in shape and weight as it seems to have been perfect for me!
