Thing is, Paul at IJC has picked a cracker... Despite the shape it's not bottom heavy.

I'm tempted to use it for midweek games and knock the salix for next year.

I would actually sell Redback Paradox, not only due to the fact it is damaged but because it does not seem you like it much gauging your sentiments.

Would retain Kookaburra due to the fact it is a "new" product for 2014 market so you being an aficionado of cricket equipment will always want something latest each season plus you said it feels great so I'd say go with it. Former point mainly relates to mental aspect of human as brain controls us and we evolve around it, that is what I have been though by my psychiatric.
