Chris and I shot the video on weights and sizing earlier today.  We discovered that the Adidas Vector shoes are, quite comfortably, the lightest with the Nike and New Balance similar weights.  The video will be up on YouTube this evening, so check it out.

Is there any shoe that is (a) half spike, (b) light, (c) is able to convert between metal and rubber? I open the batting and bowl leg spin, if that helps.

I like the look of the Adidas, Nike and New Balance ranges, but none of them seem to be able to convert between metal and rubber.

Also, are replacement rubber studs interchangeable between brands?

You can convert the New Balance shoes into half spikes as they come with a replacement set of rubbers.

I LOVE the look of New Balance's new range. Lemme get this straight; the 4040 are the Dale Steyn bowling boots for quicks, the 4030 are allrounder's shoes, and the 4020 are for hardwicket.

In which case, it'll probably be a stack up between the 4030, the Strike Rate 3, and the Adidas / Nike options if you can replace them with rubbers too. (Does anyone know if you can?)

the Nikes come with spare blanks to convert them to half spikes. Not sure if Adidas come with blanks, but they are fitted with a standard champ spike, so will accept any generic spare blank.

That's brilliant, means effectively that I can pretty much choose any shoe I want, and not have it be an issue.
