Samit patel unsold. Surprise surprise. all the fuss he made

The only way he'd have sold is if a franchise messed up and thought he was Indian. His base price of 200k was far to high in the auction.

Jesse Ryder unsold
Vernon philander unsold
Alvaro Peterson unsold
Etc etc

Players can go back in tomorrow's auction with the uncapped players, and as most sides are no where near there quota, some may get a bid tomorrow.

What surprises me is the Indian players are going unsold. I would have thought the sides would want to bolster their ranks with homegrown talents for cheap.

The Indian capped players get more as each side must have 7 homr grown players.

So if you have any hope of winning the IPL or qualifying CLT20, you'd want the better Indian players.

Karthik is a good player in his own conditions.

Yuvraj getting $2,33m is a joke.

A lot of Indian players have gone unsold though. Take ex test bowler praveen kumar for one. Do they just have 2months off even though it's there tournament?
Or can Indian players sneak through the back door after the auction ends?

I doubt they can sneak through if they are part of this auction

Kumar's been injured since last year's IPL and I believe is still injured. Hence no bids.

Think players can be bought after the auction to replace injured players only

Yeah players can be signed outside the window.

Kumar's hardly played in the last 2 years, poor fitness and disciple issues.

Also from the looks of it - will Bangalore get to 16 players squad? Looks like they have splurged all their money on Yuvraj  :D

Shuan Tait unsold - Must be the first IPL tournament he'll not be playing?

Suprised Adam Milne from NZ hasn't been bought either. Think he'll become one of the quickest bowlers in the world

Any unsold player from today's auction goes into tomorrow's auction.

I think reserves get removed or reduced.

So Taylor, Tait, D Hussey etc still in with a shot.

Chris Gayle was retained by RCB prior to the auction.
