I have had a trawl through previous posts regarding lenses and as I need prescription lenses my choice is fairly limited through the online retailer I use but saves me quite a bit of cash.

I currently have clear and fire iridium on my jawbones and haven used them every game last season, I realised i am in need of a low-light lens (persimmon) and a flat to medium light lens which will probably get the most use. The two options I have are VR28's or G30's and having read various posts and info online, I have decided to go with the VR28's.

The 'standard' VR28's seem to be suitable for flat to medium light and provide decent contrast for cricket which is one option but I have read conflicting information on the VR28 black iridium with some sources saying medium and some saying medium to bright.

Has anyone had experience of both lenses and recommend one or the other? My only concern with the VR28 black iridium is that it will be too dark for flat light and too close to my fire iridium lenses.

I use VR28's and they are perfect, more of a brown tinge than anything else. Highlight red on green very well, people wonder why I wear them on cloudy days but then they try them on!

I actually have some M-Frame VR28's for sale if you need some, never used

I have VR28s in my prescription JBs (although I can't seem to find JBs online anymore :S) and I have to say they're great in low-medium but anything too bright and I struggle a little. They enhance well though.

I've got vr28 polarised which are the mutts. They are a lightish brown hue. Not sure what they will be like in very bright conditions,but just returned from a weeks skiing in bright conditions, and they reduce glare massively.
Got mine from eyewearoutlet.co.uk( who are fantastic)

Does anybody bat in their ( non prescription) oakleys? Do they help in picking up the ball?

Thanks for the feedback guys. I'm swaying towards the standard VR28's as opposed to the black iridium version.

Can you tell me where you get your lenses from as I can't remember where I got my Jawbones from and they seem to be discontinued.

They have changed the name from jawbone to Racing Jacket. I think the lenses are the same fit.

I use this company http://www.theinternetopticians.co.uk . They seem to have stopped doing jawbone frames and they may be under racing jacket as No.4 says but they still do jawbone lenses

I have done some searching and the racing jacket lenses are the same as jawbones and you can swap them out as you like.

Yep. Something to do with a bluetooth company in America trademarking the Jawbone name so they had to change back to racing jacket (which is what they were going to be called originally)

I have a pair of flak jackets with both the G30 and VR28 Black Iridium polarised. The G30s are perfect in mild bright/cloudy conditions (typical English conditions). I hate fielding without them. I only put the VR28s in when it gets too bright as the G30s let too much light through.
