JVS HMX
« on: February 28, 2014, 09:24:11 AM »

Hi all,

I have made another purchase from everyone's favourite seller, James from Lekka.
This time i have purchased the James Vincent Signature HMX or JVS HMX for short.
I am looking forward to doing a full review of the bat once it arrives in the coming weeks.
The bat has been treated with x6000 which after a little bit of light reading, will strengthen the bat and old it together better.
The handle contains XRD. It will be applied.

The bat will be applied with the new HMX decals which are below. Still undecided on which way I should go (white or green) with so might use a mix of each.
White

Green

I believe this bat is going to be a belter.
I haven't been let down by James as many people on this forum thinks he is a scammer. I am an established coach here in my home town and already have pushed many of my cricketers to James and they have not been disappointed and have since bought more bats and equipment.
I am interested to see how x6000 goes on the timber and whether it adds to the timber as the manufacturer of the solvent suggests.

This will be my 5th bat from James which includes the big hitter/TPX profile which i have previously reviewed. They are truly great bats.

The bat will come gripped with the new Xtrax grips and comes with new Xtrax gloves. Again after using xtrax grips and gloves i believe they will aid even more with this bat.
I also have 9 of the xtrax grips coming so i can grip up my other bats.

Would like to add that i am not in anyway an agent of Lekka, I do not have any arrangements  with Lekka and in no way will i benefit from this post. The only benefit i will receive from James is the bat, gloves and grips which I have paid for.

Thanks

Fly

I lose track of all these acronyms.

Out of interest who is James Vincent and why should I buy a bat that was designed for him?

I was merely asking a questin Mr Fly. It is a Friday. I have had a long week at work. I am on holiday next week. I fancy a quiet day hence why I asked who the chap was. If you're in the know then I would love to hear about it.

Could call it a end of the working week story.  We all enjoy a story :)

Not a question intended to rile, I've never dealt with Lekka so am Neutral on the fella.

Does HMX stand for something?

What is x6000? (I googled this one but all I could find were car speakers.)

HMX is in the same family as RDX( former bat name). RDX is a product used in explosives.

x6000 is simply another xplosive product to add performance

please excuse my ignorance as i know absolultely nothing about x6000.

is this something thats applied to the bat as a liquid treatment or something like an antiscuff?
is it legal in the eyes of the laws regarding bat construction?
its its a liquid is it applied all over the bat and if so wont sanding remove it?

Feel Free to contact lekka for those details mate as I am unsure on the process. I believe it is a spray but not sure. IF so it may come off with a sand but i'm sure James will supply me with some so i can re-apply

I'm not asking james. I'm asking you, what is x6000?

You have bought a bat with it applied, you are happy enough to mention it over and over again in your post believing it will add to the bat. So what has it been sold to you as, surely you have been given an explanation.
Or did you infact just believe the buzzword, and buy blind?

its ok id rather not. was merely inquiring as to what it was, i presumed as you were interested in how it affected the bat you would know what it was or how it worked.
