Anyone else find it wierd how Parry got in the squad over Briggs? He wasn't really given any decent opportunities did quite well in county cricket this year and then got dropped  ???.

Is he a 'good bloke'?
Maybe he doesn't have 'team ethic,?

Or maybe he's just not a 'World-class player'  ;).

Tredwell plays as a spinner so not him, butid say root and ali will still bowl there fair share.
Playing 4 spinners (2 part time) against this Windies side, brave (or stupid...)

Briggs had one bad game against Australia and seems to have been disposed of, consistently inconsistent selection by England as ever!

Spin did well in first game, it was the later overs where we failed. Even the windies have swapped a pace an from. Spinner.

This is on the same pitch as previous game too.

Is Joe 'the Internatonal opening bowler' Root now classed as an all rounder??

As it was death bowling England struggled with they'd have been Bette dropping Bresnan wouldn't they??

Hopefully they practiced death bowling!

With broad and Bessie being the only pace left who bowled last game it's got to be theme for last 6 overs atleast.

Unless stokes who is expensive and got ailed by Faulkner is gonn have a go?

Or wright?
Or bopara?

Anyway root "international bowler extraordinaire" joe, has a wicket. Maybe they are blooding him to be the next swann.......

As well as bowling and batting, you can now add fielding to the list of things Bresnan is poo at! #BlameKP

He will be classed as a bowler if he doesn't turn up with the bat sometime soon

When did root become a bowler though? I've played against him a few times, and he didn't bowl. And just checked his stats.

He only bowled once the last time he played in the same midweek league as me and these are his figures. It was 2011.

That was two seasons ago.

Bit like Parry mate I thought he was a batsman and decent fielder

He used to play at Bottle with Greame Lloyld he bowled some right filth left arm I remember hitting him for a couple of sixes. I would have never of guessed he would play as many Odi as Glen Chapple.

Observations:

Parry fellow looks tidy, but doesn't turn it at all - that could be fun at the death!

Bresnan still looks below international class

broad must bowl more (as I type he picks up a wicket :)

Why, with 40 overs of spin available to us +Ravi, Would we have 2 x steamers bowling at the same time. Surely spin /seam  all the time is the way to go?

Are we brave enough to have spin at the death?
