Agreed, but quality is still decent - i havnt seen the purple gloves and pads before - Murray goodwin related perhaps? SPS pads i believe are unchanged.

Wouldn't expect anything magical in way of Mongoose softs for 2010 SillyShilly.

I say no to the logo, excuse my languauge here but John Newbery was the best bat maker ever to have lived thus far and to f-ing well change the logo is tantamount to sacrilege.... The guy who owns it now must be an absolute loon with no sense of tradition or respect to John and the brand he built

Agree with you here - awful logo, ditching their heritage like this could prove costly.

Sorry I think it's the right move, Newbery needs freshening up and an update of their branding. Imagine if Mercedes-Benz had stuck with the same logo as they had in 1909 out of respect to Karl Benz. Companies have to move on to fit in with the times, I really like the new logo and think it sticks to the traditions of Newbery whilst just jazzing it up that little bit.

Newbery could have been continued to be run the way it was but I believe they needed the new owners to push the brand forward and keep it alive. Evolution with the brand will allow it to live on longer with John's legacy still paramount to the success.

I agree with parts of what you say tom - but i believe they could have spent a little longer on this specific logo - i think the N is somewhat lost in the stripes, but this is the beauty of change - some like, some don't care and some hate - at least it gets people talking....
