Blade Cricket
« on: March 03, 2014, 06:56:16 PM »

Hi guys,

Looks like Zimbabwe's BR Taylor is being sponsored by these guys. I checked out their website (http://www.bladetechnology.com.au/product/infinity-english-willow-g1/), and their products do look revolutionary. What's your take? Is there any merit to the 'angled' blade technology or is it merely a gimmick?

Looks like just a super set forward handle. A reverse of Len Richardson's old Angle Drive.

Be interested to see where their 20% more power claims come from.

not sure how you'd even attempt to measure this?

I suspect it makes no difference to the power with which you hit the shot,  and gives you a significantly higher chance of being caught,  at least if you are a club cricketer....

With the angle it would take the bat longer than expected to hit the ball therefore it would ballon. I think their aiming for T20 as you go over the top and if it would just plop down the fielders throat, it would clear him. :)

Instead of an extreme bow, the handle gets set ridiculously far forward.  Just a gimmick I think

I'm also not sure that the handle would last very long as the angle of the handle would to me mean that its not fitted flush into the blade but at an angle.

Anyway to me just looks awful

@gautham_nr Hi - we think the technology is unique and has the potential to significantly increase the distance a ball can travel #maximum!
