Individual nets every other week at Vitas since December, just had two club nets on Friday evenings and I'm really feeling the benefit of the individual nets - feel much more balanced in my stance, timing balls onto the leg side and more consistent in my driving and leaving the ball.  I'll be doing the same post-season this year as well.

The only thing affecting me at the moment is injuries I'm picking up through London Marathon training - tight Achilles meaning I can't bowl too much in the nets (that's no bad thing!) and blisters are an inconvenience...

First game is 3rd May, before that we have outdoor nets, an inter-club friendly and some batting and bowling workshops from a couple of ex-Northants pros in late April

We've been netting since November. I'm now netting twice weekly.

Batting is feeling really good. Well grooved and all bats knocked in and feeling great. The long blade H4L is just jaw dropping. It's amazing how easier I find batting with the ability to stand taller. Much less stress on my back and a whole lot less pain. Happy days.

Bowling is different. For the first time sine I was 26 I can bowl seamers. Many years of surgery and some serious gym work and I'm feeling 20 years younger. Even my finger spinners are coming out well.

Can't wait until the season starts. Not sure when, the committee are slow in releasing the fixtures.

played indoor from october to january and have been netting since for about 6 weeks. seem to be hitting the ball cleanly and feet are moving. Bowling wise i need to do some more work. its been a while as ive kept wicket for the last few years but last weeks bowling seemed to be coming out nicely. Still need some work on my wrist but not too bad. hoping to get outdoors start of april.

first game of the season is 26th April. still seems miles away!

We have a few friendlys lined up for early April before season starts on the 19th. I'm gutted though after finding out last week that I can't resume running for another 4 month's due to the surgery I had in October. Hopefully I could be ok just to have net sessions batting but it will be awful not being able to play a game until mid July at the earliest  >:(

Been netting since Nov and first game sat 12 April. Personally can't see many games being played that early but stranger things have happened I'm told.

If clubs get the prep work done and keep wickets etc  covered them there is no reason why not (excluding rain on the day etc). I do t get why more clubs do t play from the start of apr to end of sept.. Even oct is getting ok forms few games now!

Our square had it's first cut yesterday and the groundsman was working on it today, hopefully we'll get all our games in (weather permitting obviously)

As for nets we were netting outside to late September and then started indoors mid October. There was about a 3 week gap over Xmas but we've not really stopped netting since last season.

Unfortunately playing looks like it may be out of the window this season due to sudden employment. But that means the season starts even earlier 26th March.

Most clubs don't play so early and late because even with covers,  the outfield is often unplayable and many share grounds with other sports that doesn't help this.

Add to that the increased likelihood of rain/cold at these times and it just isn't worth the hassle of trying to arrange fixtures.

I have played a game in October before.

Our wicket should be ready to go for April 5th providing no more major weather. If you have a decent, well maintained ground and a good (or even just a keen) groundsman, you can do amazing things.

We played an early April friendly in 2013, the week before the game there was snow on the wicket. In the second innings when I was batting the wicket actually crumbled up!
