Redders and uksaunders mob is close by, maybe they might fancy a game :)

More the merrier. Consult Simmy on the levels of pre, post and even during match drinking and antics we engage in though, it can get messy!

Ever thought of coming to sunny Holland?

Easy to get to. Enough clubs in or near the major cities, Amsterdam, Den Haag, Rotterdam (Schiedam) and Utrecht. I think Marcus (Affinity) has connections with Rood Wit in Leiden.

The level must be good enough if they can beat England in T20  ;)

An overseas tour is a real possibility in the next year or two, Holland could well be the destination :)

We seem to be all set, just the small matter of accommodation to be arranged.

Anyone wanting to pop along for the day (or longer if you dare) is more than welcome :)

Shame you couldn't get a fixture against Cheltenham - I should have put a word in but only just saw your tweet to them.

I will try and come and watch you against my old club, Hatherly!

Made some progress with them via email then the trail went totally cold, no responses for over a week.

Hmm that's strange they're the most on the ball men in the club haha!

I suspect they decided they were unable to help with a fixture on the date I requested and both of them left it to the other man to tell me. :)

We toured Brighton about 3 years ago now and had a great time. We only had one game in and around Brighton itself which was against Rottingdean, who were a great bunch of lads and a lovely ground to boot. The other two teams we played were a bit of a trek from Brighton - Crowborough and Hailsham. We played Hailsham during their cricket week and had a good time, especially as the social club across the road had £1 pints on to celebrate their cricket week! They were also drinking before the game with us and continued drinking games afterwards with them.

I worked at the summer school for a few years in Rottingdean and totally agree it is a lovely ground and a great part of the world. Far more likely to get good weather than up north!

No problem mate. Didn't have much luck with either Blackpool or Brighton. We have organised loads of tours in the past and usually get plenty of responses, even if just a quick message to say "sorry we can't help" - but we drew a near total blank with clubs in Brighton/Blackpool. Over 35 clubs contacted, with a handful of slow replies that went along the lines of 'we will have a look and get back to you' - these were followed by radio silence.

Cheltenham has been a breeze in comparison.

If you would like an additional fixture on August 7, Painswick CC, a friendly club located about 10 miles from Cheltenham, would be happy to host you.

Please e-mail: postmaster@thecolonel.demon.co.uk if interested.

Thanks and the best of luck with the tour.

Not fancy Newcastle again? Or did you not enjoy it as much?

We always like to see new things ;)

Newcastle was a great tour, one of the best, highly recommended to anyone.

Thanks for the offer of a game on the 7th LegendsoftheAutostrada, we will be making a very hungover journey back to Peterborough that day I am afraid.

Well if you're let down by any of your prospective opponents (not suggesting you will be), please let us know and we'll see what we can do!
