New kookabura's

Have all the new kookabura's got white paint sort of substance cause one of my teammates bought one of the new beasts in harrow (he paid £85) and he says it's grade 1 but i don't think it is because it's got hardly any ping but i cant remember which beast it is

I think only low range kookaburas are painted (to hide poor quality willow) ... maybe hes lying :p hah!

No, I'm making the point that it IS a harrow, meaning the willow will be nothing compared with full size bats...

Just seen it at trying tonight and it's a wild beast.
One of my oter teammates has a kahuna doom which he got for £55 and the middle is great he pushed a couple straight and they went for 4 and then he smashed one it went one bounce.

This is incorrect. Harrow is a grade of size, not quality. Batmakers use the same standard of willow according to bat spec (ie grade 1, grade 2 etc) not amount of wood they use. According to your logic -if this wasn't the case, then LH would be better quality than SH!

The "Wild Beast" is the lowest in the range of "beast" bats ("The Beast" being the top of the range), but its the only "beast" they make in Harrow. Its still English willow though, which is much better quality than the Kashmir Willow range (which is called the "little beast").

If Kooka have a brilliant piece of wood (10 straight grains,no blemishes) do you think they will cut it down to make a £120 Top of the range harrow... Or will they make it into a £350 Top of the range senior?

So you're implying that the profit margin is bigger on a full size bat? Perhaps the cost of wood is the same, but it costs less to make a harrow, which means that their gross margin is actually larger on a harrow bat :)

Being privy to know Kooks manufacturing prices, I know that the mark up on Harrow bats and full size bats is the same - so it doesn't matter to Kook which one they sell. To be honest, if they sell someone a nice Harrow bat, chances are that once the bat becomes to small for the player, he/she will probably upgrade to a full size bat with a year or two. Thats how you build brand loyalty and make your self into a multinational company!

Why does a Harrow cost less to make than a full size bat? If they're using same willow, same handle, same quality (as you have said above) it will take the same amount of time or maybe more as they need to take more weight off the back to get it down to harrow weights. Which are usually 3-4oz's less than the ave. snr bat.

Agree... Harrows use the same clefts as for a Senior bat (They dont have mini trees that make junior size bats :P)

There are smaller clefts available. Think they may be below G4 in pricing? They're 4.5" wide rather than 5" and are smaller in height,
