Padded straps
« on: March 13, 2014, 10:45:40 PM »

Just bought a pair of Woodstock platinum pads and was wondering if there is anyway to pad the straps . Had some towelling/padded straps on my last pair (Vulcan Cricket) and they were probably the comfiest things I've ever worn!

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Unfortunately, I've already had a word with John from Woodstock before I bought them and he said he doesn't do the extra padding because no-one wanted it.

I've certainly never come across a customer who didn't want padded straps! Surprised they don't have them tbh - Hence the reason all our new range will have extra padding included (big redevelopment coming for later in the year, the samples are being worked on already!)

On the DIY padding front you could try finding some foam/towelling and applying this to the pads with a strong glue - other than that you're best speaking with someone like George @ Stretton Fox for advice

Wilkie isn't bad with a sewing machine and his bat socks. Can he not make up something universal to slide over the strapping?

Can you not just get the padded things they use on some seat belts. May just need one for both pads.

Halfords do some for £5 a pair. Post me the other one :-)

Think that might be genius. Will have a look at these next week if I can't get anything else sorted!
