Aero P1 chest pad alteration
« on: March 13, 2014, 11:26:54 PM »

As I'm a bit of a fat git I do my chest pad up on the inside bit of Velcro. This fits fine but the labels did scratch my moobs a bit!

To solve this problem I used my blue peter skills and came up with the following solution.

Firstly I used a quick unpick thingy to remove the P1 logo (which was pointlessly bulky) and the scratchy labels.

Obviously this left an open seam were the labels were, which I resolved with some of my favourite impact adhesive.

It may not be the neatest job due to the glue, but hopefully this will resolve my problem. Pictures below (the glue will dry overnight and I will see what the end result looks like).

Because the Aero logo was removed and there's a Velcro "window" on both sides of the pad I think I've also made this ambidextrous, so if the glue holds (which it has done for every other job I've used it for) then I've technically improved the product :D

I thought aero chest guards were ambidextrous anyway? They are certainly marketed as such in the catalogue.

Looks a good bit of DIY though mate, I'm all for a more comfortable fit around my moobs.

If they're designed as ambidexterous left handers would have the big silly aero logo sticking into their ribs I think.
It doesn't look symerrical to me so you'd need to have the strap "inside out" which probably wouldn't be very comfortable.

And as long as it's a better fit round my moobs I'm pleased with the outcome haha!

No modding pal. Also look into magic web or wonder web. Might be useful one day
