They are bloody massive - and are rather spuriosly claimed to be training aids - I am faintly tempted to get one just for a hooley around in the nets!

I have match bats that are only a few oz of that.

Id need a 4lb one for it to have its apparent effect. I presume that means you cant make one john?


Fyi ms dhoni uses a 4lb plus one in the nets. And weve all seen how far and easily he can hit sixes!
Not saying it works, but doesnt seem to have a detrimental effect on his game.

I second that. One of my teammates had a bat with around 50mm edges and I couldn't find any balance with that. IMHO these can be used only for slogging.

I saw a Slazenger on ebay with 60 or 70 mm edges. Just wonderig,with the ever growing popularity of T20's would cricket be played like baseball in the future? Gotta feel sorry for the bowlers.
