Bat Tape but not the fibreglass/fibre-tec stuff
« on: March 24, 2014, 10:14:57 PM »

Does anyone know of anywhere that does clear bat tape rather than the one with the weave in?

Pre-empting a Fattus or CamPye reply, I don't mean Sellotape. :-)

I resent that! You clearly mean packing tape!!!

In all seriousness, I don't think I've ever seen a clear bat tape.

Packing tape is brown :-)

I don't think I have seen any either, but that does not mean it isn't out there.

You could cut clear scuff sheets into strips?

I could, but I am lazy and would prefer a roll if one does exist.

I'd also have to find some decent clear scuffs before I could chop them up.

Have a look in B&Q for the glass repair tape.
I don't know if they do clear, but the weaves fibre stuff makes a good compromise when you're out of bat tape.

Didn't realise it but I was also looking for the same.

I've just read the small print though 'Please Note: Kraken Tape does fuse permanently'. Would nail polish remover still do the trick?

Not sure the silicon tape is what you need at all

"Kraken Tape® is non-sticky to the touch and actually fuses to itself creating a permanent, durable and flexible seal"

If it's not sticky and only fuses to itself, will it stick to the bat?
I can just imagin you need to wind it round again and again really tight. Then stand there holding it for a few hours while it fuses?

Or wrap it with the silicone, then wrap the silicone tape with Sellotape to hold it in place.
If Sellotape doesn't work nothing will

Or going in a completely different direction, I've got duct tape on my (net) bat.

I've just realised we've all missed the obvious CBF post....

Don't bother with tape, just buy a new bat!  ;)
