Mongoose Bats info
« on: March 29, 2014, 10:34:18 PM »

G'day

Over here in Australia we don't get any info on this brand.

We all know about the original 'brick on a stick' and some would have seen Hayden use it in the IPL, but here nothing about the COR3,TORQ or Rebel.

I was impressed with the performance of the TORQ in AOC, the cricketer and other online shoot outs and purchased a cheap Series model online for next season.

I've read snippets of info on Custom Bats about mongoose  and am a tad confused.

It seems their own website info has gone quite since 2009 when long mmi was so radical.

Who actually makes their bats, did they go bust, which bats are made in England and which in India? What do people think of the more traditional profiles?

Appreciate some new info.

Ta

They did go busy yes but were then re bought out. Were some rumours it may have happened again but as far as I know that's all they were - rumours

Wow, I wasn't expecting that answer. I read on the forum that some of their bats were still made in England. If SS Ton was making them would that mean they get some of their bats made there too? I'm confused now.

I'm not too fused as long as there is no TON on the edge (often crooked). It feels like a powerful bat and picks up lighter than the 2.12 it now weighs with a another grip, facing and some shoe goo. Won't know for 5 months.

We'll that makes sense why the publicity died down.

Interesting that they do well in the yearly shoot outs.

I had a great bat, but just wanted a goose and it became a reality after years of reading and procrastinating.

Amazing what a few late night scotches and a visit to eBay can achieve!

Wished I joined the forum earlier as I definitely would have asked for some advice beforehand.

Adelaide. Not much selection in the shops here for what I paid and If I have to buy online I'm looking at reviews etc.

As I said in another post I have a great bat and just wanted a mongoose.
