Is this a crack?
« on: April 08, 2014, 07:13:57 AM »

This is a new bat and I've just realised what looks a bit like a crack on the splice of the bat. I showed one person who knew a thing or two about bat making and he said it was not a crack, but just a mark where they were putting the splice in.

The bat is a Newbery.

Does not look like a crack, it looks  to me to be a mark.

Thanks for putting my mind at ease chaps.

Does anyone know if the ebay stickers are real or not. I assume the Newbery ones are real? I could get a set pf Moongoose stickers. I tried Newbery direct and they were a bit angry I had managed to get my hands on the bat so getting stickers from them is out of the question.

The chance of finding real stickers on eBay is roughly the same as winning the lottery mate

you said this bat was a newberry, how did you find this "crack" if you want to call it that if the bat is new. Last time i checked Newberry dont supply blank bats

Bats can crack below the splice if the bat maker forces the splice into the cleft too hard. I've only just noticed the mark so I thought it a good idea to ask on here.

I don't think they do supply blank bats to the 'general public', but they do for pros. I bought this bat from nikunj or batman as he's also known.

I doubt the Newbery ones are real on eBay.
