Looking for an OZ team
« on: April 09, 2014, 11:38:56 AM »

Hi all, come August I'm packing up my belongings for 2 years and going down under. Recently finished university and before getting into the real world I'm planning on having a blast down under while I can! Been playing cricket now since i was a nipper and i love the game so it would be a big mistake to spend 2 years of my life over there and not set foot on a nice hard bouncy wicket! Almost all of my stay is going to be around Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane so I'm looking for any amateur clubs in these areas if anyone could help in anyway or throw me some suggestions!   :D

Cheers guys

It'll depend on how long you stay in one area for as well as standard and any stats you have :)

Are you just looking for a club to play at or a club that can offer you anything?

Best bet is to ask Steven at Cric X, he'll sort you a club.

Would like to play regularly for a side that you would consider similar to our 'village cricket' Sunday teams, nothing to taxing haha!

Mate myself and fearless fly on here play for a club called toombul district cricket club, which is located in Brisbane.
Right next to a train station so its easy to get to training, the fields are well maintained. I moved from a different club to Toombul, and im so glad that I did, the spirit Toombul shows and plays with is second to none. Everyone is equal at the club. For example, I dont know anywhere else where I would be able to have a froth with an Australian fast bowler, when I myself have only played some of the lowest grades at the club.
Some famous blokes to come out of the club have been Jeff Thompson, Chris Lynn, Ryan Harris and Chris Sabburg.

As I said, great spirit, and the boys love a pom to drink with!, we offer grades from first grade down to warehouse, and having played some of the lower grades i can tell you it would be pretty much exactly what you are after.

If you would like any more details, please give me a PM
Regards, Rowan.

These are a good bunch of lads. We have a close link to them as a cricket club
